Those words did fade to black

"So be it," said the figure

Laying down to soothe himself in tune

But it never came back, that voice he sang

Out into the frozen expanse

Cold and alone

"I am lost and afraid," said the phantom to the canopy

"Your wish is our command," they replied

"May I rest upon you, among your leaves?"

"For as long as we might be"

So vanished that specter into a torrent of petals and entropy

And at last he would rest, knowing that he was free

Of the night's relentless grasp

But that wasn't where he awoke

Surrounded in comforting cloak

He opened his eyes and saw he was inside

A familiar blanket

Cold and alone

"Ghost, you wander down there, have you really forgot?

You belong up in the air

Up above, up here in the gap between stars

Please come home"

"How could I possibly stand and rise in flight?

I don't have wings, don't shine as bright as you

Still hiding from dusk

But we can't run from the dark forever

I feel you getting colder still

Seeing figures in the shade

Through ponds of light, we can clearly see

That treeline's goodbye

16 - Night Sky

Said that skeleton to his friends

"Of everything, the leaves are best!"

And camping in the shadow was a ghost who spake

"Yes, to this is side is the best to awake!"

Spooking things

Creeping feelings

Hallowed ground

Owl's howl

Everything around us is falling down

Encompassed in Autumn's spacious clouds

The night sky blooming

The moonlight looming over we

Who've been waiting patiently
